Marcus Rashford is ‘close’ to signing a 70million deal to keep him at Manchester United, according to reports.The England striker is in advanced talks with the Red Devils over a five-year contract with the club which would see him earn Wayne Rooney’s old terms.Before leaving Old Trafford to return to Everton, Rooney was on 300,000-a-week as he captained both United and England.2

And now, 21-year-old Rashford believes his form this season means he deserves to be on the same amount of money as United’s record goalscorer.According to the Daily Mirror, Rashford is set to see his current pay packet of 80,000-a-week shoot up to the astronomical wages to ward off interest from Real Madrid.His current deal runs out next season, but United have an option to extend it by 12 months until 2021.This confusion, added to the tumultuous start to the season under Jose Mourinho saw rumours of a move to the Spanish capital begin to gather pace.2
