Anthony Martial: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer responds to Manchester United forward’s ridiculed ‘warm up’ video
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insisted Anthony Martial will rediscover his goalscoring form after being questioned about the forward’s lazy warm up before last weekend’s draw with Chelsea.Martial, the Manchester United forward, was filmed before kick-off on Sunday standing around as his team-mates warmed up for the clash, with a number of videos shared on social media. The 23-year-old was widely criticised by supporters over the lack of effort he was putting in, and few were surprised he failed to make it off the bench in the 1-1 draw, which dealt a huge blow to United’s top four hopes. The criticism of Martial comes amid a run of poor form, with the forward scoring just two Premier League goals since the turn of the year. There have been suggestions the France international has downed tools since signing a new contract with the Red Devils, with Martial putting pen to paper on fresh terms back in January. The deal keeps Martial at Old Trafford until 2024, with the option of a further year, and Solskjaer insists the forward has NOT become complacent. When quizzed about the videos of Martial’s warm up in a press conference, Solskjaer said: “Anthonys got goals in him, its up to us to move forward and get that into him again.“Im sure well see him scoring goals again in the future.”
